Your journey to clear skin is unique in so many ways, clearing is dependent on your type of acne, and your type of skin. However there are some key products that you need to make your clearing journey more seamless.
ICE
I know what you’re thinking, what does ice have to do with clearing Acne? Acne is a wound/injury to the skin driven by inflammation, what’s better for hot, red inflamed skin than Ice? Nothing! It’s free and can decrease pain, inflammation, and help prevent new lesions from becoming inflamed. There’s a few ways you can ice, you can grab an ice cube straight from your freezer, or you can use a reusable ice globe. These ice globes are the ones I use in treatment and I find them especially comfortable for the face and gliding over the skin.
Microfiber Wash Cloths
This may sound silly but when clearing acne you do need to use a specific type of wash cloth. Friction plays a part in aggregating acne lesions. It’s very important that you limit your friction exposure to the face or other area where acne is a concern. Regular terry washcloths are too rough for your sensitive skin and can bring about new acne lesions. You want to treat your skin as gently as possible, and microfiber washcloths are perfect for the job. Often times Microfiber can wear down quickly within a few washes, however I’ve found these washcloths on Amazon that seem to last longer.
Pillowcases
Surprising enough you will need a lot of fresh pillowcases, so have plenty of white 100% cotton or silk cases handy. It’s important to sleep on a clean surface every night, however it’s also the safest way to sleep. To get your skin clear and keep it clear, you will be using medical strength products. If these products build up in access on your pillowcase by sleeping on the same pillowcase night after night it can lead to burning of the skin, swelling, itchiness, and redness. Our goal is to give you balanced, hydrated acne free skin, we can;t accomplish this without a fresh pillowcases through every night.
Fan
One of my favorite products to have handy is a great mini fan. I use this fan in my treatment rooms and over the years I’ve used many brands of fan. this one has the strongest power as well as a super long battery life. You can use your fan to help speed up the application process by increasing dry time for your products. Also if any products tend to burn or sting your skin for a short time period, a fan can help calm that initial tingle quickly.
